Michael Miller's 'Lil Cowpokes' print used another way...

A few posts back I showed the pillowcase style dress I made for my grand niece for her birthday in Michael Miller's 'Lil Cowpokes' print. It turned out so cute! Well, I have another family birthday to celebrate and this time for a little boy. Since I had some of this fabric left over I thought a pillow cover was in order. You know, a pillow just for lounging around while watching your favorite TV program in the morning whilte resting still - you'd need a pillow to be comfy right? It will be in the mail to him tomorrow - so don't say anything, it's a secret...

What to do with Vintage Pillowcases...

Here's another idea to use up those wonderful vintage pillowcases...a half reversible apron! I've made two different styles, one with a expandable gathered waistband and the other with a slightly gathered front. Wouldn't you just love to receive a handmade gift like this? Makes a perfect hostess, or shower gift.

Do you Love Vintage Linens like I do?

I counted my vintage sheets recently - I have twenty! And don't even ask me about how many vintage pillowcases I have acquired...it's my addiction. Especially if there is embroidery. The softness and sweet prints of vintage linens just can't be beat.

Vintage sheets have been backing my quilts for years, but now I am using them for different projects. Like using them for waistbands and ties on my craft vendor aprons (photo on left), or my latest project: fat quarter bundles which are for sale in my Etsy shop. What could you do with these pretty lovelys? I'll be making some things and posting in the near future. So stayed tuned...

Revised Vintage Pillowcase Craft Apron

With some urging from my sister, thank you Jan, I have changed the waistband on my craft apron. I used a vintage bed linen for the waistband and ties and have to admit I like it much better than the satin ribbon. Original photos down two posts... This craft apron is now available in my Etsy store.
