Vintage Sheet Lap Quilt

I have quilts on my mind - guess it has been the cooler weather of late that caused this...Who knows. I'm excited about my first vintage sheet quilt just completed. Next in line will be a quilt using some vintage chenille and other reclaimed linens. Oh how fun...

On this quilt I used 4 1/2" blocks made from my fat quarter bundles I sell at my markets and on Etsy. Then I used a layer of Warm and White and backed it with a reclaimed Martha Stewart coverlet I scored at a thrift store. I brought the backing around to the front and machine sewed. I have tied the quilt with yellow embroidery floss here and there. The vintage sheets are a poly/cotton blend and are extremely soft to the touch.

I know I made this to sell, but do I really have to?

It's lovely Pam! And you are always allowed to keep the first one, it's in the rule book ;)

Oh I'm so glad you told me this Selina. I was thinking the next one I'll want to keep too cause I'm using vintage chenille. You know what I feel about vintage chenille... :)

Hi Pam,
Ooooh! This is so sweet. GREAT color combo and the backing really is a big score!! Keep it until you make the other one. I have a feeling that you'll want the chenille one for "future use." I just read about your daughter's engagement. Woo Hoo!! Some day, down the road, your daughter will be making another announcment and you'll be happy you kept at least one of your first quilt creations.
Patricia :o)

PS: Thank you for your sweet comment on my blog.
