Vintage Bunting Banners
So many people have asked me about my vintage sheets bunting banners that I decorate my booth with...they want them too! So I've made up some just in time for Christmas out of vintage Christmas tablecloths, vintage baby fabric, and vintage sheets.
Here I have some decorating my booth at a recent indoor craft faire. These banners make it so festive! Great for birthday parties or fun decorations.
Come see them in person at the Friends of the Loomis Library Thirty-Seventh Annual Christmas Faire this Friday, Dec 2nd from 6pm to 9pm and on Saturday, Dec 3rd from 10am to 4pm.

Daughter's Wedding
Brianna and Sean's wedding was on November 4th up in Foresthill. It was a beautiful event. We were blessed with clear blue skies, a sprinkling of snow on the Sierra's, and no rain! Yes it was cold at this outside wedding, but the setting was so worth it!
Foresthill Lodge was a very special place to hold the festivities - thanks to all the staff for making it such a special time for us. Our venue turned into a family reunion of sorts as we took over the entire lodge from Thursday afternoon until Saturday at 11:00am. So fun, so special!
Here are "the kids" - daughter is 25 but looks 18 right? Love our new son-in-law Sean! He is perfect for Bri. Will have more wedding photos to share later...but until then just wanted to say it was awesome!
Bri and Sean on their honeymoon in Hawaii - they had a blast!

Sacramento Antique Faire
Do you like antiques, vintage and collectibles? I sure do! That's why I signed up to be a vendor this Sunday, November 13th at the Sacramento Antique Faire. It's held under the freeway in midtown Sacramento on 21st Street between W and X Streets. Always held on the second Sunday of the month rain or shine. It's a huge event with free parking and only $3 admission.
The outdoor marketplace starts at 6:30am - yes, I did say 6:30am! Goes till 3pm. So there's plenty of time to walk around the two full parking lots to see all the great treasures! I'm scheduled to be in Lot 1, space B-12 (but have asked to move to a covered spot if one opens up). Hope to see your there!

Vintage Linen Calendar
Remember the linen calendars that granny would have hanging in the kitchen on a wood rod? Well I purchased some vintage ones recently and began making things...like this tote bag.
Love the whimsy saying "them that works eats" on this one!
It's from 1969. A good year...
I used a vintage pillowcase as the lining with a hanky as an inside pocket.
The ties are from a vintage tablecloth. So fun!

This Sunday, October 23rd I'll be at this event in Sacramento. It is held on 21st between W & X Streets under the freeway from 8am to 3pm.
The outdoor marketplace is now an annual event held each October. So you'll need to come this Sunday to see all the goodies or you'll have to wait till next year!
Here's a few of my new designs you'll see in my booth...

A vintage tea towel, doily and hot pad...
Recently I was looking at some of my vintage linen treasures and I noticed a lovely tea towel that had trim colors which matched a special crocheted hot pad...got me thinking...together they would be a darling tote bag!
But wait - must add a vintage doily, or two.
So here is how it turned out - pretty sweet! I've added another vintage doily on the back of the bag and put two pockets using the tea towel material on the inside.
You can see my tag hanging from the corner - this tote is in my booth ready to go home to a new owner!

One Farmer's market ends - another begins...
Well our last Thursday Farmer's market at Mahaney Park in Roseville ended on Thursday for the season. It was a small market, but in a nice location. Here is my booth...
Tomorrow I begin my every other Saturday schedule in Auburn with my Foothills Farmers Market Association's market and am so excited! It is a large market that has been around for years. The setting is lovely, nestled amongst trees in the downtown Auburn courthouse parking lot from 8am till noon. Come by and say hi!

Daughter's Bridal Shower
This past Saturday I hosted an outdoor bridal shower for my daughter and all her guests. Was a bit worried a few days earlier as it has been blazing hot here lately. Everything turned out great as we were blessed with mild temperatures and a nice breeze. Ah.... Here is my daughter Brianna - she just turned 25!
I used my vintage embroidered table cloths for the tables - so girly and fun!
Brianna's friends brought decorations and made cupcakes. They also made adorable silk flower garland which we hung from the patio. Love it!
The cupcakes not only look amazing they were so yummy! Great job girls...
Only sad part was my 86 year old mother came down with shingles so was not able to attend. We missed you Oma! My sister and I took her a cupcake the next day...

Vintage Sheet Pillow Covers
Some of the vintage sheet fat quarter packs I made are still in my booth...tempting me to make something. So I made up a few pillow covers to show what you can do! I used 4" squares for this quick project.
Here is a photo of the backs. Also, in an earlier post on this blog I show a lap quilt I made using 4 1/2" squares of vintage sheets.
You know, fun with vintage sheets never ends!

New Things Tuesday
I really should be sewing for this Friday's event and Saturday's market, but want to share my latest finished projects with you...
Love, love, love the vintage tablecloth fabric I scored from a friend's mother - made a pillowcover and a few bibs out of it.
Also used some vintage chenille for more bibs. Must be dreaming of future grandchildren as I am on a huge bib kick - must be because my daughter is getting married in November and says they are planning to have children in a couple years.
Oh, do I really have to wait that long?

Vintage Chenille Pillow Cover and Bibs
Remember the 1957 vintage chenille baby blanket I showed a few posts ago? The owner, Toni asked me to make her a pillow cover and bibs out of it. I tried to talk her out of cutting up this sweet blanket, but she won. Glad she did.. The pillow turned out pretty adorable and now will be used!
I had to work around some issues - patched on back in a few places, but found another large piece to use for the back. It's darn cute too!
There was enough left over material to make a large and small bib. Toni has a special person she is giving the bibs to but shared with me she is going to put the pillow on her bed.
She picked them up at market yesterday and loves them! I do too.
Was a bit sad to see them go, but I still have the memories...and the pictures.

I love my Farmer's Markets!
The Foothill Farmers Market Association that I belong to is such a great group of people! I'm participating in two markets and loving it. Here is our Thursday market, a new little one in West Roseville. This is Bob, our Site Manager and seller of Snow's Citrus Court's delicious products (they are known for their mandarins).
My bud Kathy, of 56 Green Beanies is here in her booth - she repurposes sweaters into beanies and other cool stuff! She's been my inspiration for selling at the markets! Thanks Kathy for suggesting I sell at the farmer's market!
David has wonderful fruit and vegetables...as well as Lilly here. You can't go wrong with our farmers' produce!
This is my booth - it is ever changing...that's part of the fun!

Toni's Vintage Chenille Baby Blanket
One of my favorite customers at the farmers market saw my little bear pillowcover I made out of a vintage chenille baby blanket and loved it! You can see a photo of the bear pillow cover on an earlier post below... Anyway, the following week Toni brought in her baby blanket and wants me to make her a pillow cover and some bibs out of the vintage material! I tried to talk her out of cutting up this blanket as it is in great shape for being from 1957. She insists - wants to make some things for her grandchildren.
Watch for a later post - I'll show how the custom items turn out. Even though my photo is a little dark of the full baby blanket, isn't it just dang cute?!!!!

Grandmothers Flower Garden Quilt Top
I'm so excited - scored a vintage quilt top that I plan to finish! It is a beautiful Grandmothers Flower Garden. The top and bottom are square and the sides are scalloped. Can anyone date this material? I know it's old - it sure smelled like it!
Am asking all you quilters out there to let me know how you would finish it. Want to hear your ideas please! How would you quilt it?
What kind of backing would you use? I really want to do this quilt top justice so would appreciate your advice!
